UTE Gym, Budapest

Construction work on the sports hall began at the beginning of 2019, and the building received a final occupancy permit in the summer of 2021. A nearly 1,199 m2 sports hall without stands (20x40 meter sports field, with runways) was built inside the building, which is suitable for training locations for almost all ball games (for example: handball, volleyball, futsal, etc.). In the sports facility changing rooms with water blocks, a gym, warehouse, office, and mechanical room were built next to the sports field.

Currently the volleyball and futsal departments use the sports hall for training, possibly for holding behind-closed-doors matches.

This new facility was built next to the multifunctional sports hall, which was finished some years ago. Both building is decorated with the elegant metal sheet of Ruukki S34 Rome. The two buildings also have in common that the back structure of the cladding is mostly provided by liner tray. The main difference is the orientation of design profile. The new building was designed with vertical wave, which required the installation of an additional layer of (horizontal) omega profile. Around the entrance, the traditional plastered surface with neatly arranged small windows is more emphasized. The change and unique transition between the two covers makes the building special and exciting.
