- The new Ikea in Kuopio uses renewable energy only. Thanks to the energy panels the building is four times more airtight than is demanded by the Finnish building regulations.
- This lowers the consumption of heating energy in the building, and the CO2 emissions are below average. Ikea in Kuopio is the first major construction that uses Ruukki's energy panel walls.
- The energy consumption of the Ruukki energy panels is around 30 per cent smaller than in similar buildings. This product pays itself back quickly - within 6 to 24 months.
- The prefabricated energy panels are solid, particularly because of their airtight seams.
