Forfatterhuset Kindergarten has places for 160 children and was built in the Nørrebro district of Copenhagen, Denmark. The building has curved corners and the façade reflects the creativity involved in the design.

“The goal was to create a building that respects the historical surroundings and which does not annoy the local residents,” explains Gyproc’s project manager Søren Rasmussen.

Ruukki Anderslöv supplied the steel channels and studs for the wall elements. The most challenging aspect was to profile the channels to make them bendable to enable the curved corners of the building.

“We have a long track record of good cooperation with Ruukki, who had a proactive grasp in this project. The building is a fine one and was exactly as the architect had envisioned. We now have a solution to future customers who want to build curved façades,” says Søren Rasmussen.
