Barrandov - Olga Scheinpflugová square, Prague, Czech republic
In the Barrandov district of Prague, a new public space was built for residents - Olga Scheinpflugová square. The square is not ordinary; it contains modern elements such as a bookcase, artistic sculptures by Lukáš Rais, facilities for public markets or a relaxation zone full of greenery. These elements are unified and emphasized by the use of a characteristic, distinctive material - Cor-Ten steel from Ruukki.

Creative and with respect to nature
In the square, in contrast to the other materials, distinctive elements made of Cor-Ten steel from Ruukki are used. This natural material is characterized by a great long-term appearance without the need for maintenance. It is not only an exceptional architectural element, but also a sustainable and natural material.
"The characteristic appearance of the material, which changes during the time and the influence of weather conditions, forms a striking counterpoint to the sober and modern architecture of the square and to the smooth and shiny sculptures of Lukáš Rais, which decorate the square," says David J. Wodinský, Marketing and Sales Director in FINEP.
Cor-Ten steel was used not only on the facades of the commercial units, but also on other exterior elements, thus contributing to the creation of a homogeneous appearance of the public space.
