Ruukki Construction is to invest EUR 8 million in improving competitiveness at the Vimpeli plant in Finland. The investment aims to support Ruukki’s profitable growth strategy and ensure enhanced customer experience by further improving plant safety, delivery performance and productivity. The investment will also promote Ruukki’s aim to make carbon-neutral roofing products.
The investment will streamline and improve material flows at the plant, significantly raise the degree of automation and modernize the production lines and product properties. Following the investment, Ruukki will be able to increase the production capacity of the most popular roofing profiles, shorten delivery times and improve customer service, especially in Finland. The project is expected to complete in summer 2023.
“Improvement work at the Vimpeli plant is based on the needs of our customers, who rightly expect Ruukki to provide high-quality products and prompt service. We believe that the improvements at the Vimpeli plant and in its processes will benefit both our committed employees and our customers by ensuring even safer and more seamless operations,” says Jouni Metsämäki, SVP, Roofing, at Ruukki Construction.
Ruukki’s Vimpeli plant makes steel roofing products and serves construction customers mostly in Finland. The Vimpeli plant is in South Ostrobothnia and employs around 90 people. Ruukki’s other plants in Finland are in Alajärvi and Kauhava.
