SSAB and its subsidiary Ruukki Construction are to donate Ruukki roofing products to the charity organization OperationAid for the reconstruction of houses in Ukraine. The roof profiles, flashings and fasteners donated can be used to rebuild the complete roofs of as many as 16 houses or make smaller repairs to dozens of houses. The products to be donated will be manufactured from SSAB color-coated steel at Ruukki's plant near Kyiv during December.

OperationAid is a charity organization that helps Ukraine. The organization focuses on identifying the most urgent needs, raising and procuring funds, and delivering humanitarian aid and medical equipment to Ukraine. SSAB & Ruukki also donated roofing products to Ukraine through OperationAid in December 2022.

"Our people in Ukraine stay strong despite the ongoing war. The safety of our employees is of utmost importance to us. We has a total of 71 colleagues in Ukraine who continue to provide high-quality roofing products and services to our local customers. Our plant in Kopyliv near Kyiv currently operates some days a week, depending on the demand situation," says Jouni Metsämäki, SVP Roofing Europe at Ruukki.
