Ruukki has updated its BIM (Building Information Modeling) library of Building Envelopes products. Our upgraded BIM library includes advanced and more user-friendly BIM objects that allow customers to create impressive façades with only a few configurations.
BIM models represent a building material or object and contain characteristic data in three-dimensional digital form. They help facilitate information sharing between the parties involved throughout the design & construction process. Ruukki has been offering BIM models of its products for years, but as technology develops, we are now able to offer architects and structural engineers design tools that meet current trends and market needs.
"Our goal is to make designing buildings with Ruukki products as simple and intuitive as possible. This is why we have been developing more user-friendly 3D objects, with all the necessary information about our products," says Katarzyna Klepacz, BIM & Design Development Manager at Ruukki Construction.
Wide selection of façades available and more to come
Ruukki BIM models are available for download from the product pages on our website and in the ProdLib application. The completely updated BIM library enables customers to design the whole façade in one go.
“Thanks to the update, designing buildings with our products is now easier. We’ve reduced the amount of unnecessary data linked to the BIM models, making them lighter and faster to use. The new versions are more modular and easier to configure, they contain the latest product information and furthermore, the amount of information has been optimized so that only the necessary parameters are included,” Katarzyna continues.
Ruukki’s new BIM models comply with current standard requirements and industry trends. In addition, they include the latest features developed based on customer feedback. A new approach to BIM and digitalization in the industry allows us to be more creative with BIM models, and we are developing new, more advanced concepts to be launched next year.
“We are constantly developing our digital design tools to ensure that they include the latest data and features, and are supplementing the selection with new products and language versions. We have a team of technical experts who help customers to realize their visions and who are always keen to receive feedback on our digital tools and services to make collaboration as smooth as possible,” Katarzyna concludes.
