Ruukki Ukraine supports future architects through Steel Freedom competition

The grand finale of the 11th annual Steel Freedom student architectural competition took place on November 30 in Kyiv, showcasing the creativity and ambition of future architects. This event, one of the most prominent platforms for architectural students in Ukraine, featured 109 registered teams, encompassing 407 students from 15 higher education institutions.

For Ruukki Ukraine, the partnership with Steel Freedom is about more than sponsorship—it's an investment in the future. These students are the architects who will shape the skylines and communities of tomorrow, using innovative and sustainable solutions. By supporting their growth, we strengthen the connection between our expertise and the next generation of visionaries.

This year, Ruukki had the honor of awarding Team L-357 from Kyiv National University of Construction and Architecture. Their remarkable project stood out for its creative use of Ruukki Classic on the building facade.

The competition also held some exciting surprises for participants this year, including a special nomination from INBO and MVRDV, inspiring even more innovation and collaboration.

Special thanks to our Marketing Manager, Oksana Kucherenko, for representing Ruukki at the event and presenting the award to Team L-357.

By supporting events like Steel Freedom, Ruukki Ukraine demonstrates its commitment to nurturing talent, advancing sustainable design, and contributing to the architectural legacy of the future. Thank you to all participants for your creativity and passion—we look forward to seeing how your ideas will transform tomorrow’s world!
