Ruukki Construction has decided to invest EUR 5 million in the Piristeel plant in Finland. Piristeel manufactures roof safety products and rainwater systems. The investment will support the company's growth strategy by improving the delivery capacity of roofing products and expanding the production line. The investment program, which will commence early this year, is scheduled to complete during 2024.

Ruukki aims to offer the best possible service for its customers by delivering a complete roofing package from one and the same supplier. This package also includes roof safety products and rainwater systems manufactured by Piristeel.

The development of the Piristeel plant will enable the sale of roof safety products and rainwater systems in all of Ruukki’s market areas: Finland, Scandinavia, the Baltics and Central Eastern Europe. Each market area has its own products, and the investment will enable the products to be better tailored to suit local customer needs.

“The investment is based on good cooperation with our customers. We are modernizing our production machinery and expanding our premises to better serve our customers in different areas of the market. The improvements will also increase operational efficiency and occupational safety. In addition, modern energy-efficient production equipment is a step towards more sustainable operations,” explains Jouni Metsämäki, SVP of Roofing at Ruukki Construction. 

The Piristeel plant, part of Ruukki Construction, is located in Kauhava in Southern Ostrobothnia, and employs about 100 people. Ruukki's other plants in Finland are in Alajärvi and Vimpeli. In December 2021, Ruukki announced an investment of EUR 8 million in the Vimpeli plant. In addition Ruukki acquired majority shareholding in Swedish sheet metal solution provider Dala-Profil AB earlier this February.
