Ruukki Construction, a subsidiary of SSAB Group, has signed an agreement to acquire a majority holding (60%) in Vimpelin Listapalvelu (Vilpa). The company manufactures flashings from sheet metal and employs 7 people. The transaction supports Ruukki’s strategy for the roofing business and strengthens the company’s ability to provide complete roof packages for its customers in Finland.

Ruukki offers its customers complete roofing solutions, which include, in addition to roof sheets, all the parts needed for the roof, such as rainwater systems, roof safety products and flashings. Vilpa, which manufactures custom-made steel roof and facade flashings, has already worked as Ruukki's contract manufacturer, and its premises are located next to Ruukki's Vimpeli factory.

Ruukki manufactures steel-based roofing products in Vimpeli mainly for Finnish construction customers. The factory located in South Ostrobothnia employs approximately 90 people. Ruukki's other factories in Finland are located in Alajärvi and Kauhava.
