The new Danube Bridge carries the M8 motorway over the river and its flood plain. The bridge consists of 1,067- and 302-metre-long approaching bridges and 308-metre-long main span over the river.

The bridge deck as well as the web-plates and the bottom plates were strengthened by cold roll-formed trapezoidal sections delivered by Ruukki.

Ruukki’s dimensionally accurate and long trapezoidal sections up to 17 m made it possible to minimise joint welding and any waste of material, which meant savings for the customer in construction time and overall costs.
