The Warsaw Citadel gate, Poland

Cor-Ten® steel delivered by Ruukki was used to build a new entrance gate to the Warsaw Citadel, a 19th-century fortress in Warsaw, Poland. Cor-Ten® sheets are a reference to brick walls surrounding the Citadel. The material emphasizes historical character of this unique place. The gate was designed by WXCA architectural office from Poland. Architects from WXCA also designed the first building in a planned museum complex –The Polish Army Museum. Cor-Ten® steel in 5 mm and 10 mm thickness was delivered in Q4 2022. From steel sheets with maximum size 14 x 2 m, a contractor cut irregular shapes, which were next reinforced.
