The exterior of the building is embellished with Ruukki's perforated design profile Design Tokyo S18.

Four questions for the architect.

- What did you want to achieve with the design of the building/staircase?

We wanted an airy, translucent staircase facade. The round perforated profiled sheeting is like an airy curtain that creates an optical effect with different light.

- What challenges did you face during the project?

We were looking for a staircase finish that was simple, easy to install, yet with a distinctive look. By considering different options, we found a suitable fixing and distribution scheme.

- Why were these products chosen? (Ruukki perforated design profile Design Tokyo S18)?

The conventional panel with the degree of perforation we wanted was not an option, both in terms of transport and production speed and cost. Ruukki's specialists offered a special profile from their product range with the right perforation level to meet our requirements. We visited the site to check the options, which provided the final push for selecting the final option.

- Why was Ruukki chosen as a partner and how did the cooperation go?

Ruukki's specialists thought along with us and provided technical advice.

The cooperation with the Ruukki representative went very well and has continued for future projects. The speed of communication, the discussions, the understanding of the wish/problem on Ruukki's part and the proposal of a solution, the bringing of samples to the site - all these helped the parties to reach a suitable solution.
