Suurpelto is a shopping centre in the Suurpelto district of Espoo that was completed in 2017. The building is located on the Kehä II ring road and acts as the centre of a city district that is experiencing rapid growth. It has been estimated that in 2005, Suurpelto will have a population of around 10,000. NCC is also designing the second phase for the Suurpelto centre.

The first construction phase saw rented commercial property in the shopping centre covering 4,500 square metres.  The lower floor of the two-storey building has K-Supermarket, two restaurants and a flower shop. The upper floor has a gym, flower shop and unisex hair salon. The Suurpelto shopping centre has been awarded ‘Very Good’ status with the BREEAM environmental certificate.

Ruukki supplied the shopping centre with the Ruukki Expression™ façade system, that included energy panels that reduce heating and cooling costs, and patterns taped on the panels, images and colour coating. Ruukki Expression created a refreshing unique appearance for the façade of the building.
