The building’s designer, in close collaboration with the end client, aimed to create a state-of-the-art spice production unit that sets new standards in food safety, occupational safety, sustainability, and low-maintenance solutions.
The main challenges during the project and construction included a tight schedule, the simultaneous execution of design and construction processes, and harsh winter weather conditions in Estonia.
Ruukki sandwich panels were selected because they come from a trusted Scandinavian manufacturer and ensure long-lasting, consistent quality. As the project included both dark and light color tones, a solution was needed to minimize the risk of color changes over time. The surface coating of the Ruukki sandwich panels was highly valued, as it meets the stringent requirements of the food industry and is suitable for environments where direct contact with food may occur.
Choosing Ruukki as a collaboration partner was supported by the company’s strong brand reputation, positive market feedback, and the confidence that the product offers higher quality than alternative solutions. The collaboration proceeded smoothly, and minor issues related to deliveries did not affect the project’s overall success. One of the key factors contributing to effective cooperation was the shared values between Ruukki and the end client, with sustainability and safety being central principles.
