Sharing Station – Daiktų kiemas (Courtyard of Things)

Ruukki Lamella Cor-Ten cladding panels were used for the recently opened DAIKTŲ KIEMAS (Courtyard of Things), a station for sharing things in Šiauliai. The Ruukki Cor-Ten® steel cladding was the perfect choice for this facility, as the patinated steel cladding ensures durability and is in keeping with the facility's activities and blends in well with the environment.

A modern bulky waste collection site was recently opened in Šiauliai. The site is also home to a sharing station - the DAIKTŲ KIEMAS (Courtyard of Things), where visitors will not only be able to give things a second life, but also benefit from a classroom of environmental education programmes for both children and adults. This space will be used for presentations, discussions, lectures and workshops.

The architects have used Ruukki Cor-Ten self-renewing steel panels to great effect. Ruukki supplied ~500mLamella Cor-Ten 20 cladding panels for the project.

Cor-Ten® is a robust steel with a natural, rough surface patina that continuously ages in a unique way. When used properly it is expressive, durable and maintenance-free. It is also 100% recyclable.
