Cold storage and food processing building for Mathias Bjørge AS, Norway
Mathias Bjørge AS is a long-established seafood company in the Ålesund region, well known for its production of salted and dried fish and shellfish—and now also salmon . To meet the growing demand for value-added processing, the company decided to build a new, modern production and administration facility on Ellingsøya.

The new plant includes production halls, cold and freezer storage, technical rooms, a packaging warehouse, and a dedicated office wing. The building has been designed with a strong emphasis on stringent hygiene standards, efficient logistics, and high energy performance.
For the project, Ruukki supplied sandwich panels with PIR and mineral wool cores, delivered in exterior color RR20. Foodsafe laminate coatings were provided in selected areas to meet hygiene requirements. Ruukki also supplied the T130M load-bearing sheet.
