Fachhandel, Gliwice, Poland

Ruukki® Patina sandwich panels with an external facing made of COR-TEN® steel give a distinctive look to the walls of a new commercial and warehouse building owned by Fachhandel company in Gliwice, Poland. Panels, installed vertically, create a modern building envelope, with COR-TEN® specific rusty color. Ruukki® Patina panels perfectly match Ruukki Liberta® rainscreen panels applied on the front façade and also made of COR-TEN® steel.

Excellent properties of Ruukki® Patina sandwich panels ensure building’s longer life span and reduce its carbon footprint. High airtightness improves energy efficiency and allows to save up to 30% of building’s heating costs in comparison with a standard envelope. Ruukki® Patina panels do not generate maintenance costs – in case of scratches, a surface will repair itself over time.

External cladding of this building started to patinate to the desired color soon after its installation. A process of patina formation on the steel’s surface will last a couple of years and its color will gradually darker, from brick red to dark brown. COR-TEN® steel ages slowly, maintaining its natural and timeless elegance, particularly important in revitalization projects.
