Children’s day at work brought joy and curiosity to our Ruukki sites in Finland

On November 21, 2025 Ruukki Construction took part for the first time in Finland’s national Children’s Day at Work, welcoming 48 young visitors to our locations in Helsinki, Alajärvi and Vimpeli. The day offered children aged 2–15 a chance to explore their parents’ workplaces and learn about everyday working life in a fun and safe way.

The morning began with a shared breakfast, followed by hands-on activities tailored to different age groups. Children practiced first-aid basics, tested safety gear and joined an office tour that sparked plenty of questions and excitement. Creative energy peaked during Christmas cookie decorating before everyone gathered for lunch in the cafeteria.

In the afternoon, the children continued their visit alongside their parents — joining short meetings, coloring at desks or simply observing how a workday unfolds.

The day reminded us how fresh perspectives, curiosity and small moments of joy can brighten our workplaces. Thank you to all the families who joined and made this first Children’s Day at Work at Ruukki such a memorable experience.
