Ruukki Construction, part of SSAB and a leading supplier of sustainable, steel-based building products, announces leadership changes. Esko Harila is appointed Head of the Roofing Europe business unit, and Viktor Strömberg, becomes interim Chief Financial Officer (CFO) for Ruukki Construction. The changes take effect on January 1, 2026.

Esko Harila, Chief Financial Officer of Ruukki Construction, who has also served as Interim Head of the Roofing Europe business unit (Finland, Baltics, Central Eastern Europe and Ukraine), will be permanently appointed to the role as of January 1, 2026. Esko has led the business unit on an interim basis since October 2025.

To ensure continuity in Ruukki Construction’s Finance, IT and Strategy function during this transition, Viktor Strömberg, SSAB’s Head of Strategy and Digitalization, will take on the role of interim CFO for Ruukki Construction. He will join Ruukki’s leadership team and report to CEO Sami Eronen. Recruitment for a permanent CFO starts immediately. Viktor Strömberg will remain a member of SSAB’s Group Executive Committee during the interim period.
