Ruukki and Urban Partners move forward with a new Ruukki LowCarbon project in Tuusula

Building on the first LowCarbon project in Tampere

Half a year ago, Ruukki and Logicenters (Nrep) announced the construction of a logistics center in Hervanta, Tampere, where significantly lower life-cycle impacts are pursued with low-carbon solutions. The cooperation now continues in Tuusula. Logicenters is developing a new 11,400 m² facility for DEXIS’s production and warehouse operations, scheduled for completion in mid-2026.

Ruukki will supply approximately 5,300 m² of Ruukki® LowCarbon SPA 230 E LIFE sandwich panels for the project. The wall panels are manufactured using 76% recycled material and have a 36% smaller carbon footprint compared to standard panels.

Responsible construction as a shared objective

Flexibility, sustainability and the needs of modern logistics are key priorities in the development of Urban Partners’ logistics properties.

“I am pleased to see our cooperation continue. Urban Partners is committed to responsible construction that combines sustainability, innovation and quality. Our goal is to create environmentally friendly and energy-efficient building solutions that meet our customers’ needs now and in the future. We use the latest technologies and the best materials to ensure long building lifetimes and minimize environmental impacts.”
- Sanna Vikström, Logicenters/Nrep

Smoother design with Ruukki’s tools and expert support

Ruukki supports architects and structural engineers throughout the project by providing design tools and technical expertise for product selection and dimensioning. Available tools include the TrayPan® + Revit add-in for wall system strength design, as well as energy, wind load and acoustics calculators. These tools enable early-stage comparison and optimization of design alternatives.

“In logistics projects, smooth and reliable design is essential. We support the design team with product selection and dimensioning and provide tools that allow different options to be evaluated already during modeling. This helps ensure that the solution is functional, feasible and aligned with the project’s goals.”
- Katja Nurminen, Project Manager, Ruukki Construction
