Ruukki introduces new acoustically pleasant sound environment solution

Ruukki introduces a novel sound environment solution for its construction customers during this autumn. The building envelope solution, designed especially for large spaces and challenging sound environments, ensures an acoustically optimal end-result for various building types right from the start.

Sound considerations are not just for concert venues. Acoustics have a significant impact on how functional, comfortable and productive a space is for its users. Still when designing buildings, acoustic planning is often left halfway, and extensive and expensive acoustic renovations are needed immediately after the property is commissioned. To tackle the challenge Ruukki introduces a new solution: Ruukki® Sound Environment.

Ruukki® Sound Environment combines profiled load-bearing roofing sheets, sound-adsorptive materials and cladding products into an intelligently embedded sound environment. The solution, especially suitable for sports arenas, industrial halls, schools and commercial buildings, reduces background noise and reverberation to make the user experience of the building as pleasant as possible.

The lightweight, economical and easy-to-install modular solution ensures the desired acoustics performance for the space being built, up to the highest A level.

"Ruukki Sound Environment is the next step on our journey towards more sustainable building products. Together with our customers, we want to promote the wellbeing of people through providing sustainable solutions for built environments. When acoustics are taken into account in the design from the beginning, contractors and real estate investors can be sure that the building is immediately suitable for its purpose. The solution we are launching today is the first in this product family. We continue our research and development efforts towards a comprehensive offering for people's well-being and acoustic comfort," says Adam Korol, SVP, Head of Building Envelopes, Ruukki Construction.

"Ruukki's Sound Environment solution has garnered enormous praise from the players and guests who have visited our padel hall. It's pleasant to be here, and the sounds from the game don't bother you. It's great that such a successful complex was opened in Seinäjoki (Finland). Thank you for the effective cooperation,” says Tero Mäntylä, Regional Manager, Padel Club Finland.
