Ruukki has delivered steel facades to the Meripihka and Meriluoto housing companies being built in Helsinki's Jätkäsaari. Approximately 3,000 square metres of Liberta 500 steel facade cassettes in silver and metallic graphite colours are used on the buildings. YIT is responsible for the construction of Meripihka and Meriluoto, and KST-Yhtiö Oy for the installation of the facade cassettes.
“Our installation project naturally includes dimensioning– that we measure the walls before ordering the facade cassettes. The width of the facade cassettes varies from 20 centimetres to 2.2 metres. A residential high-rise is always a more challenging project than an industrial building, because high-rises have more openings, in other words, windows and doors,” says Johannes Mäenpää of KST-Yhtiö.
The Meripihka housing company consists of two buildings, with three residential floors each, and a total of 30 flats. Meripihka was completed in autumn 2017.
Helsinki’s Meriluoto housing company has two buildings and 30 flats, and some of these are two-story units. Meriluoto will be completed in September 2018.
KST-Yhtiö from Lahti is specialised in the installation of facades and mechanically seamed steel roofs. The company employs over 40 tinsmiths. KST-Yhtiö has been serving customers in the Häme and Uusimaa regions since 1995.
KST-Yhtiö has installed facades manufactured by Ruukki in the past, too. Among other projects, the company has installed the facade profiles to the Jallukka housing company in Helsinki's Jätkäsaari, and facade cassettes to the Härkähaankuja high-rise housing company in Vantaa. It has also installed Ruukki facade cassettes to Etola's office by the Tuusulantie road.
