According to Vattulainen, existing projects also impact production in Finland and temporary layoffs have been mainly terminated at the Peräseinäjoki and Ylivieska sites, both of which serve the project business.

Extensive delivery for Elektroskandia’s logistics centre in Sweden
Elektroskandia is building a new logistics centre for its electronic components and domestic appliances business in Örebro, Sweden. The new building will replace the old logistics centre and will comprise a total of 50,000 square metres of floor space, or about the same size as more than 6 football fields. When completed, the building will be 14 metres in height and the adjacent high-rise warehouse will rise to a height of 30 metres.
Ruukki is designing, delivering and installing the steel frame, load-bearing sheets for the roof and sandwich panels for the walls. Ruukki will also carry out fire protection for the structures, and besides steel components, Ruukki’s delivery also includes windows and hollow core slabs.
The steel structures were produced in Ruukki’s plants in Peräseinäjoki and Ylivieska in Finland and Oborniki in Poland. The load-bearing sheets and sandwich panels were produced in Vimpeli and Alajärvi, Finland. The installation phase started in March and will continue to August 2016.
Ruukki has long experience in delivering steel structures for logistic centre projects.
Ruukki’s delivery is valued at about € 7 million.
Ruukki supplies for PAC’s logistics centre in Örebro, Sweden
Ruukki is participating in a construction project for a new logistics centre for PAC, a manufacturer of packaging materials, in Örebro, Sweden. Ruukki’s delivery includes the design, production and installation of the steel frame, load-bearing sheets and sandwich panels. Also the concrete footings, hollow slabs and fire protection of structures are included in Ruukki’s project. The new logistics centre is a single-storey building with an adjoining 3-storey office. The total floor space is approximately 25,000 square metres.
The steel structures were produced in Ruukki’s plants in Peräseinäjoki and Ylivieska in Finland and in Oborniki in Poland. The load-bearing sheets and sandwich panels were produced in Vimpeli and Alajärvi, Finland.
Installation of the frame started in February 2016 and was completed in May 2016. The lead contractor in this project is NCC, with whom Ruukki has worked earlier on several similar projects. The building investor is Västerstaden. Ruukki ‘s delivery is valued at about € 2.5 million.
Ruukki supplied steel frame and envelope for Skånemejerier’s high-rise warehouse
Ruukki has been selected as the supplier of the steel frame and components for the construction project for Skånemejerier’s high-rise warehouse. Skånemejerier is the third largest producer of dairy produce in Sweden. The building will be used to store dairy produce and will be completed and in use by end of 2016. Construction company Skanska is the general contractor of the project for the building, which is located in Malmö, southern Sweden.
In addition to the steel frame, Ruukki also delivered the load-bearing sheets for the roof and sandwich panels for the walls. Ruukki was also responsible for the design, production and installation of the steel frame and other components supplied. Ruukki has experience in constructing high-rise storage facilities.
The steel frame and components were made at Ruukki’s plants in Finland. The steel frame was produced mainly in Ylivieska, the load-bearing sheets in Vimpeli and the sandwich panels in Alajärvi. Design and project management also came from Finland.
Installation of the frame for this 30-metre-high building began in February and will be completed in May 2016. Ruukki’s delivery is valued at about € 1.5 million.
