The sports centre is the first building in Norway to be clad with Ruukki’s energy panels. The main advantage of these panels is that when correctly installed they ensure a very airtight building and thus low energy consumption. This saves both money and conserves the environment. 

The contractor set high quality criteria so that the building meets the EU’s new directive on the energy performance of buildings. Different sandwich panels were evaluated and Ruukki’s energy panels were the only ones on the market to meet the strict requirements. The panels must be correctly installed to achieve the energy-efficiency target.
