Marco Trevi Storehouse
One-stop service from Ruukki
Multifunctional construction complex
It was the first time in Ruukki's history in Ukraine that a client required a complex construction solution. Ruukki took full responsibility, not only for delivery of the materials, but for all stages of the construction process, as this was constructed with the new single-storey concept. The concept's main advantages are a complete delivery from foundation to frame as well as speed of construction. Marco Trevi's storage and office complex (8,640 m2) also includes an assembly line.
The client decided to build this structure as its largest storehouse (on the first floor) and for office space (on the second floor) as well. Ruukki accomplished this objective by including a lift slab between the floors and building additional staircases and fire exits.
Reputation as the major criteria
Marco Trevi built another storehouse using Ruukki's help a year earlier. Material delivery was the major part of that project. Ruukki's smooth and effective handling of the first joint initiative led top managers at Marco Trevi to include Ruukki in a tender for constructing its largest and most important storage and office project. Ruukki won the bid, beating eight competitors, by providing a complex customer-oriented approach.
In addition to supplying the raw materials and constructs for the project, Ruukki arranged with its regional partners to design and deliver the necessary components: 350 tons of foundation materials, 8,800 m2 of roofing materials and 4,700 m2 of sandwich wall panels. Ruukki and Marco Trevi signed a contract in December 2007. Ruukki employed for the project its long-term partner, Tekkombud - a company which has worked as Ruukki's regional dealer in Ukraine for many years.
One-stop service
Ruukki provided Marco Trevi a one-stop service for the project, taking total responsibility for every stage of construction. Marco Trevi saved time, money and human resources. Hiring a number of different companies for the same task, the client would have had more of its own employees involved and would be forced to put much more effort into coordinating and controlling contractors.
"We chose Ruukki for several important reasons," said Marco Trevi s General Director Anatoliy Goynik. "Firstly, Ruukki is well regarded in Ukraine. The company has a reputation as a highly professional and reliable partner. Secondly, such projects require compliance with firm deadlines. We knew from our previous experience that Ruukki would meet these crucial criteria."
Alexander Ivanov, Ruukki's Construction Engineer was responsible for Ruukki's participation in the project. "We gained extremely valuable experience completing this complex for Marco Trevi. We are ready to use it in our future works," Ivanov says.
According to Anatoliy Goynik, Marco Trevi considers Ruukki as a preferred partner for any future construction projects the company might have.
