The Queens Retail Park in Preston is one of the city’s newest modern shopping centres. It has recently undergone further development to extend the premises and include new stores. One of these new additions is Costa Coffee, one of the UK’s leading and most popular coffee shops.

At Ruukki, we were pleased to be involved in the construction of this coffee shop by supplying our panels on-site to be installed onto the store’s façade. Our energy efficient mineral wool panels were delivered on-site and painted Costa’s red brand colours before they were fixed to the external walls.

The exceptionally high recycled content in a mineral wool panel means this sustainable panel minimises the use of raw materials and energy, as well as reducing the carbon emissions during the construction phase. This panel was the ideal solution for this building and has left a protected and attractive façade, which very appealing to potential customers.

We have also worked on various other stores and brands on the retail park, including Aldi, Smyths Toy Store, and Energi Trampoline Park. The development has now used Ruukki’s panels for all of their units, and we have great hopes to continue working alongside the contractor and developer for any future extensions the shopping centre may have.
