Environmental certifications are used to measure and verify the environmental performance of properties. To facilitate the work of architects and structural designers, we have prepared LEED and BREEAM support guides. They list the classifications that you can influence by choosing Ruukki products.

International certification schemes for environmentally sound construction, such as LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) and BREEAM (Building Research Establishment Environmental Assessment Method), are used to assess and demonstrate the level of environmentally conscious design of a building or construction project. Certifications also make it possible to compare properties with each other.

The ratings aim to improve the overall quality of buildings and infrastructures, integrate a life cycle approach in its design and construction, and promote the fulfillment of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals by the construction industry. Assessed buildings that meet a certain level of performance and quality can prove their environmental credentials with a certificate.

Please note that using Ruukki's products helps you reach your LEED & BREEAM credit targets, but does not guarantee that you will receive points. This is because the final assessment is carried out for the entire building.
