Following the success of our recent projects at Queens Retail Park in Preston, we are delighted to announce that we have been commissioned for another new project at the site.

After completing the supply of panels for the external facades of four new additions - Costa, Aldi, Energi Trampoline Park, and Smyths Toy Store - the 80,000 sq ft retail park has further expanded with the arrival of Iceland to its growing portfolio. 

As we share this news, the project at the new Iceland store is underway. Our first task was to supply our SPB WE panels with a two-tone colour compilation to suit the Iceland brand. We have provided 1000m² of panels, including corner panels, as part of this large, ongoing project. This produced a highly aesthetically-pleasing and extremely well-protected external façade, which is representative of Iceland’s branding and allowed a professional finish for the premises.

Queens Retail Park is one of Preston’s newest shopping complexes. As such, the building exteriors must look modern, professional and welcoming to attract shoppers to the range of stores on site. As specialist panels need to be installed that have a highly quality finish, we supplied Ruukki HIARC coating for ultimate protection and longevity. Further, each building has its own colour scheme: it is imperative that each store is instantly-recognisable. At Ruukki, we can deliver bespoke panels in a variety of colours to ensure the building remains on brand for the client. Sustainability must also be considered in the construction of such large new facilities, and is a factor that remains at the forefront of mind in both construction and installation.  

This specialist Ruukki panel was chosen for this project due to its excellent thermal insulation, impressive sound insulation and high fire protection. It is a perfect solution for facades that must meet strict requirements as to energy efficiency, thermal insulation and architectural features. These exceptional features are a result of the internal core material, which has lowered density and low thermal conductivity.
