Structural steels

Ruukki Optim W

Ruukki is a forerunner in the production and development of thin ultra-high-strength structural steels.

Our broad product selection of Optim high-strength and ultra-high-strength structural steels includes steel strip and steel plate products complemented with steel tubes and open steel profiles.

One focus area for Ruukki has been the use of ultra-high-strength structural steels in welded steel frame structures.

Ruukki helps end users obtain increasingly lighter applications with a range of unique raw materials, including the thinnest DQ steels on the market (2.5 mm). Ruukki’s customers benefit from ready-to-weld components, enabling them to streamline production processes.

By using thin high-strength structural steels, our customers save on production costs thanks to easy bendability and surface treatment. Additional savings in welding work and filler materials can also be achieved when material thickness is minimised.
