Coatings
The high corrosion resistance of the hot galvanised and painted thin steel sheet of cassettes is based on the combined effect of zinc and the paint coat: the ability of this combination to protect a steel sheet against corrosion is much better than that of either coating alone.
The paint coating protects the zinc from moisture and airborne impurities, thus enhancing the ability of zinc to protect the thin steel sheet. The zinc coating protects cut edges against corrosion cathodically and slows down steel corrosion if the paint is damaged, thereby preventing corrosion from migrating under the paint coating.
The external surfaces of the noise barrier cassettes are coated with a polyester paint or PVDF paint designed for demanding outdoor applications. Hot galvanising and painting takes place under carefully controlled factory conditions.
The surface materials of the cassettes are highly resistant to corrosion and UV radiation.
Dirt does not easily adhere to the coating of the noise barrier cassette, and no special cleaning is required. Most common spray paints can be removed with a water soluble detergent.
