Mine enlarges
The first new mine for ages is being built in Pajala, in northern Sweden. In Kiruna, also in northern Sweden, the existing mine is being enlarged by building a new mine level at a depth of 1,300 metres. The reason is the growing global demand for steel.

Seen from the air, Statoil’s new office in Fornebu on the outskirts of Oslo looks like a five-armed star. There’s also five-star expertise behind the steel trusses in this impressive building. After assembly welding, the demanding welding seams were checked by ultrasound before the trusses were raised and positioned using the largest mobile crane in the Nordic countries.

sell well in the frozen landscapes
The tipper body semi-trailers made by the Polish company Wielton sell well in the frozen landscapes of Siberia, among other places. The floor solution, made from Ruukki’s special steel, can also withstand the extreme cold. New types of welding solutions mean end product can be rolled out onto the market more quickly.
